Hello folks, got a new problem,, went for a little drive down to the weigh scale to see how much the old truck weighs, but I couldnt get more than 10 psi out of the turbo,, when I got there I found out why,, a good portion of the exhaust is going out between the exhaust manifold, adaptor plate and turbo.... I am going to try and tighten these again once it cools down to a point where I can actually get my hands in there,, but is there anything else I can do?

check them to be true with a straight edge, but you know that....does the turbo still spin free? Maybe you have a bearing problem.

turbo seems to be good,, Ill pull the turbo off once it cools down and see if I can see anything,,, I think it is the adaptor plate,,,

For that much of a boost loss, I'd think one of the nuts/bolts would have to be pretty dang loose! I tried to tighten mine in a criss-cross pattern to crush the new gaskets evenly. Not sure if you're supposed to do it that way, but it made sense to me. Spent about 30 minutes going back and forth tightening them (twins don't leave much room to tighten the two towards the back of the truck. I've had the top turbo out three times now for the wastegate puck issue and every time they give me new stainless gaskets, so I'm assuming you're not supposed to re-use them.

Which turbo do you have? What gaskets are you using? Are you using a divided plate?

I have a 4202. I have a t3 manifold with a adaptor plate. The adaptor plate was machined just recently and wasnt on the truck before we installed it. I have the steel gaskets on there too

Well I talked to a freind that works for a gasket and seal manufacturing company. He set me up with some gasket material that is rated for 2000* F it is some kind of carbon fiber. I think it should do the trick (heres hoping)

Fixed,,, now I cant keep the intercooler boot on,, but i think I have a fix for that,, know tomorrow.
