my truck had a junk turbo, and i have read alot on cf that a 3b is impossible to use as a single but every one uses s400's so i thought i would try it just to see . i was really surprised, it spooled pretty easily but poped a boot off and it was dark so i didnt get to try it to much. so my question is how much boost will they handle before they come apart? i might leave it on there for a while.

What housing does it have? Ht3b's have huge turbine wheels and the shaft is enormous, so it will spool slower just because of that.

huh? i thought you were building triples?
yep i did but i dont have the primary chargers yet and i had this one so i tried it

its allready done it really spooles ok i can build 2 psi right under 2k rpm .

it had a 26cm housing and thats the best part i cut a t3 foot off of my stock manifold and put it inplace of the t6 then with some cutting and welding it is now about a 20cm housing..... total hack job just for fun but it ended up working really well

i tried it again this time the boot came off at 45psi should i be nervus about the wheel breaking?

Changing the foot of a charger doesn't change the housing size.

:hehe:no pictures and even if i had them its just alittle to embarasing to post

cast will eventually crack.... even with the best welds.
i know i just wanted to see how how it is to run a big charger. its not that bad at all

i know i didnt say that i cut the housing down maybe i will have to post a pic i cant explane verry well

How many rpms does it lite hard?

about 2800 is were it really starts to go but it will move the needle below 2k
i think with the small housing it would be verry usable with out choping it up and wrecking it

In a Twin setup it runs about 35 psi and the air temp is pinned at 400 degrees, I've heard of 50psi before running it as a single.
