I swapped to my winter tires last weekend and noticed my brake pads were worn uneven and at an angle on my 99. I did some checking with my buddy I bought the truck from because the front rotors were slotted but I wasn't sure what brand they were. Figured out they were bendix special orders from Advance auto, but unfortunately they no longer carrier bendix brand brakes.

So now I have a problem, because no one else in town does and I have been told by a mechanic friend of mine that I need to use the same brand pads with the rotors since they are slotted.

Thoughts, suggestions?

That's what I was wondering if I could just use any high quality pad.

Yes I'm planning on cleaning up my calipers, replacing the caliper bolts and bushings, plus upgrade my rear wheel cylinders all at once. Forgot to include that in my original post.
