Do you have to break in a vp44? I just installed my new pump and new injectors. I have not hooked up my drag comp and was wanting to know if I should wait or if it even matters.

Hook'em up and make sure they gave you a good pump :evil

No break in required with the 44, just run some good fuel additive such as 2 stroke oil or some such. Keep that pump happy and it'll last longer.

we always solder wire tap in while the new pump is still on the bench... it makes it easier and that way the pump never knows "the good life", it'll just think thats the way it will always be. :)

I would not tap it and run it full out straight off the get go.

Give it 150-200 miles to make sure that all of the air is out of the system.

The electronics will never know the difference. But you can sieze the pump if you have air in the system. Get all of the air out, and you are good to go!

Run the hell outa that bish....it will love you until it pukes LOL

I ran mine for a couple of miles before I put the Smarty, and untapped Comp on it. I figured get it installed and run all of the air out, then see if I can get it to fail without tapping the wire. So far it is good, and I got the nerve to tap it a while back. No probs. If you are worried, then give it a tank of fuel with a good additive before you hook the Comp back up.

This is how I broke mine in:

1)Installed pump
2)Tapped wire
3)Turned TST on 9
4)Ran up to 100mph
5)Let motor cool
6)Turned off truck
