i am changing my injectors finally and the first one i do i break a bolt. I know its metirc and all but if i drill it out to a 1/4 bolt will that hurt anything and do i have to worry about somthing getting to thin?
Thanks

Jeff

i got the right one but its a pretty small bolt and figured if went one bigger it would be easyer to drill out and tap

i would think it would be a royal pain in the arse to drill and tap the back injector bolt holes and get them perfectly straight

i ending up getting it out took a small bit drilled it a little and it moved so i took a screw driver and hit it on it and spun it right out with no problem. Thank god i was freaking out about it

so where did you get the correct bolt to put in that you broke off... i just did the same thing today.

did you guys break them off putting them back and over tightening them or were they so tight when you took them off they broke?

over tighten mine is why it broke i just went to the hardware store and got a bolt with the same thread

90in/lb ain't much. I just get mine till they are snug.

I once thought the same way.... but after talking to Weston once whilst changing injectors, his argument about Cummins engineers knowing more about torque specs on hold downs than me made sense. LOL

i ended up going to austin fuel injection and performance...i got a buddy up there and they had a couple of extra bolts.
