I was getting all the little stuff fixed last night before I put my new turbo on and one of the minor faults was a broke dipstick tube that had a piece of rubber hose on the end of it to make the dipstick sit right. As I was pulling it out last night part of it broke off inside of the block. Any suggestions on easiest way to get it out.

I should have put this in the first time. I was gonna use an extractor but I can't find them. (note to self dont EVER leave tools with brother while deployed)

I drove one into a block and worked it over to the drain hole with a magnet.

I pulled the drain plug, Had a buddy with a flashlight shine it through the dipstick hole. I then used a long 1/4 inch extension and knocked it out. It took 2 minutes.

I got it out. Down into the oil pan. :doh:DUMB@$$!!!!!!!!!!:badidea: Now I can't find the damn piece in the oil pan.

OK I got it out. Only took a wire coat hanger, a donut magnet, a pair of pliers, 6 foot of electrical tape, a couple cigarettes, and lots of cuss words.

heat up a wood screw with a torch then screw it into the plastic with a drill. after it cools down pull it out with pliers.

same thing happened to me when i was installing my compounds. make sure you have your engine code with you when you order a new one. i went thru hell with geno's on mine.... apparently there are 2987652490 diffrent kinds of dipsticks for the 5.9 some have a bigger O.D. some have diffrent orings and some have different lengths.

I must say even after shipping several dipsticks to me they made it right in the end.
