I got a friend with a 06 6.0 powerstroke He is having trouble keeping the charger lit at the end of the track. I think the problem could be greatly helped by changing the vien position in the charger. My Question Can that be done with SCT? I Know EFI live can so wouldnt see why not?

yeah, a custom tune should help. maybe he could just tap the brakes and the converter will unlock, that should bring the rpms up enough to help.

he is runn a custom SCT tune with I think 205 or 215 cc injectors a 2.6 charger and a sweet fuel system just cant stay on top of the charger
i just wish he could close the veins a little bit to keep it goin.
The only other thing i can think that would help is a intercooler for more capasity. Other than that im at a loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
well just who`s vgt is he running??? if he reallys wants a real charger tell him to ditch the vgt and get a standard charger...his turbo wont work near as well as yours vgt vs. vgt... you can ask most 6.0 owners that have switched to a standard charger if they like it,,most of them will say they will never look back. Im running a 2.6 trusted performance charger! and it performs flawlessly
 
Im not saying i disagree i just think there sould be some adjustbility on the veins.

My guess here and only a guess. He has the dreaded smart 5r issue. When the 5r fluid temps get to a certain temp it will cause the tranny to go into the "safe" mode. There is now way that he will tell it is doing this, there will be no light or anything to tell you. What it will do it shift like, 1,2,5. Only thing you can do it manually shift the transmission. I would take off in 2nd gear,(Put the shifter in 2), then when your rpms get up shift it into 3rd.

Here is a video of mine doing it. It happened at 23 - 24 second mark. I had my hand on the shifter so I pulled it back into 3rd manually.
