which setup will work better

1. hx35 12cm housing wastegate ported through the divider with a banks big head wastegate acctuator over an ht3b 26 cm housing

2. hx35 with an 18.5 cm housing from an hc1 over an ht3b 26cm housing

also does it make a difference how the turbos are placed side by side or over top of each other

I know the first one works good. I'm not sure on the other one.

Those may be older setups, but they work fine unless you go crazy on the fuel. You can do 500 to 550 pretty easy on that setup and not get too hot, depending on altitude.

I don't think where they are placed makes much difference, unless they are really far apart, like across the engine bay.

i would use the 12cm housing the 18.5 would be a little too big i think. the placement is up to you, it is easier to go over under i would think.

How about a HX35 with a non-wastegated or wastegated 16cm housing (depending on $) with the HT3b. I'm thinking this would be a nice setup.

do the 18 or 18.5... the 12cm is way too restrictive

externally gated or not needed?

I might be doing this cheap set-up before too long and using my hybrid 35/40 w/18cm housing is why I ask. :Cheer:

Also, what rpm is needed before the 26cm housing will light the primary?

On an 18cm you probably wouldn't run a wastegate, but it wouldn't be a bad idea at all....

I think the stock 12cm with the divider crossdrilled AND a 35-38mm external wastegate would be nice! Set the baby wastegate to come on kinda soon to help get the primary lighting and then have the bigger wastegate open higher up 30-35psi? so the primary gets all the thermal energy it could ever need.

I like my HX35G-14/HT3B-26, but I'm still working on tuning them.

I've had a 35 over 3b with 38 mm external wastegate on a 12 v. It was a good street setup. You can modify the stock wastegate flapper and hole up to around 38 mm then put clearence on the back plate so it will open farther.

I ran a 35/40 with a 38mm ext gate over a S475 that was a great street setup.

The same s475 you're going to try as a single now?

I'm trying to plan out a budget build for my truck since it will probably always be the tow vehicle...I'm thinking some 5x.014's and a 35/40 with ht3b and a cheap external gate would be a solid towing combo with what I already have

yes, I ran a S475 with the 1.32 T6 before in the twin set. Great street set of twins, dyno'd 593 hp and 1400 tq w/ my vp setup and pulled a sled decent too.

I'm thinking of trying the S475 as a single for next year...

Which would be better for street towing:

s300: 62/71/.80 w/g hsg machine to fit
over
s475: 75/88/1.32

OR

s300: 60/68/.88 non w/g (use external gate)
over
s475: 75/88/1.32

Curiosity killed the cat...:rockwoot:...Reason I ask is all these are box BW turbos except for fitting the .80w/g housing to the 71mm exd turbine wheel.

Thanks in advance :rockwoot:
