Bully dog Vin locked help help help

Just had dodge put a new motor in the truck, have been running the bully dog triple dog since almost new, i jsut bought a smarty so i unloaded the bully dog and was gonna put it on another truck and it keeps saying vin mismatch what the heck can i do. Anybody have any ideas.

I have the same problem. Have a BD but haven't used it in years (Smarty). Loaded it on a Duramax for a friend to try but when I tried to reload it on my Dodge it says vin mismatch. Loaded it back on the Dmax and removed it again and still the same problem. I emailed BD a while back but never got a reply so if you call them post what they tell you to do.
 
ok i will i tried unloadeing it off my truck several times i dunno im a dealer for them i will call them tomorrow, didint know if anybody had the unlock codes.
 
thanks guys, i know allot of guys sell vin locked stuff but i have had this on my truck forever and took it off today to put on the smarty and was selling it to a buddy for his truck and it tells me vin mismatch and i have loaded and unloaded it a hundred times.
 
call the 800 number on the site.. i had one and as it turned out it was done for.. i live in town with bully dog they traded it straight out for a dyno dominator for duramax.. cant complain they gave me reset codes plenty of times over the phone.. just gotta be nice and play harball..
 
check the vin number locked into smarty. not to piss on BD parade but they used to change one digit of the vin number to corallate with the hp selection change.

Dont ask me why but I have been down this road before with smarty reading a vin number change and yes it was a bd f up .
 
Bob, r u saying that the smarty has my bully dog locked, i had the bully dog on my truck and removedit ans put the smarty on, tried to put my bully dog on another truck and it says vin mismatched. i can put it back on my truck and go thru the whole thing and unload it again and it says the same thing.
 
read the vin number with the smarty and compare the vin to the trucks tag .
 
Anyone ever get this figured out? Mine is locked too! They want me to send it in for $100
 
I had that happen to me once, all I had to do was set the tire size and program back to stock. The tire size alone will give you a vin lock when trying to go to another truck.
 
I've actually never purchased a used Tripple Dog that WASN'T VIN locked :(

I don't think people set out to lock them, but a lot of times they won't set the tire size back, or they'll just select "stock" on the on-the-fly menu and assume the downloader is unlocked :o
 
Changing the software wont help either, I tried that a couple times when I had my ordeal.
