I was testing my foglights this evening & they don't come on? It just makes a buzzing noise under the hood, sounds like a tripped relay going crazy. Can this be caused by the bulbs being in backwards or something? Bad ground?

Not trying to be a smartass, but I think you are hearing a relay go crazy, pull the underhood fuse compartment and take a peak, IIRC there is a spot for one there.

Its wierd. My fogs aren't factory, aftermarket add ons. The relay is mounted on the fender & it isn't buzzing. The buzzing sounds like its coming from under the fuse box?

How did you wire them up? Are they on a complete separate circuit or did you tie them in to come on with the headlights? If you tied them into the factory headlights what did you use to trigger the fog light relay?

I bought the Mopar kit. It came with the fog/headlight switch, external relay which pulls current from the red wire which powers up the fuse box.

Have you checked the relay itself with a meter or test light to make sure that it is working correctly? I have seen a couple of relays be bad out of the box.

I'm off work today. I am going out to get it fixed today. The relay has power in/out. It is something below the fuse box thats buzzing? I'll find it & let you know....thinking I may have pinched a wire when I changed my fender.

I got it fixed. I got confused as to which relay was for the foglights. It was the foglight relay which was buzzing. I forgot to mount it on the fender, it was tucked under the fuse box [hence the "buzzing under fuse box"] The fuse was blown going into the relay. I changed the fuse & they are now working as they should. Thanks for your help Billysgoat:Cheer:.

Glad to help, and next time I'll remind you to backtrack wiring first :poke: LOL LOL

P.S. Don't feel bad, I get to do stuff like this for a living, and still make simple mistakes too.

I hear ya.:hehe: Problem is that I cleaned the wiring up under my hood & routed all of those wires under the battery/fuse box to hide them. I was using the reach & feel method of tracking the wires.:bang
