Cam bore holes rusted/pitted

Noticed today the cam bore holes had some surface rust so I've did my best to clean them up but heres what I'm left with...

Run it or no? Hate to spend more money but with what it's already costed I hate not to if it's could be an issue.

Oil retention.

I usually hit them with a berry hone.

Stupid question but does the cam actually ride on these the same as if they were bearings? Even if they are a little out of spec I'm assuming the bearings in each end would take up the slack?
