Cam sensor necessary on a 99 with p pump conversion?

Hi all, I have taken tech advise from you all for many years and never really needed to ask anything because all my questions are answered but I finally get to break my silence with this one.

I am currently in the middle of my p-pump conversion and wondering if it is necessary to put the cam sensor back into the 12valve timing case. I know my truck picks up its signal from the crank sensor so it seems like I could just plug the hole. Any advise greatly appreciated!

Not needed as long as you've got the crank sensor.

Only costs a few bucks to get an adaptor. Unless you are going full competition with the truck or have the crank signal to keep a charge etc Id just get the adaptor.
