Cam shortage??? whats the deal

I talked with Darryl Poole today and after 3 weeks of tring to get a cam no luck....

what is the deal with the cam shortage? Even on Garrett's site (Puredieselpower.com) there is a note under the Maxspool II cam that reads:

Please note! We are OUT of 24 Valve cam cores! To order this item you MUST first send in your cam for grinding, you will get your cam back.

I've heard the same story. What I've been doing is keeping several cam cores here so when one is needed I can kind of keep things in circulation.

According to COMP461 the cam core supplier has stop supplying cores.

i sent comp461 the cam from my 24v to grind because or the same thing. it only took a week to get it back.

Ian i'm thinkin you should just pull your cam, send it in and it'll back quickly! Or just pull the whole engine, and throw in a 12V :woohoo:wned:

There's no shortage of billet cams, buy one of them and keep your core.

Id like to have a billet but I cant spend that kinda money on a cam at the moment..... IRP is right around the corner so this POS needs to go back together asap!:bang
