Because I was sold a 911 pump by a shop and they told me it was a 215 but I am reading a that a 911 is acually a 180. I didn't see the 911 until it was shipped to me. How many cc's can a 180 push maxxed out with the anroid still in place?

From what I understand a lot of folks prefer the 180 because it has the good cam and flat top plungers.

From what I understand they don't have the retard notches.

interesting, i just didnt know what the deal was with them

I prefer the 180s. They dont have the retard notches in the plungers that cut timing back. I also think they take performance parts better as in you put your own gov springs, dv valves and such in and they run great. No need to send them in to the shop to get the ilde and other little pesky problems with the govs setup.

from what i understand, 180's are maxed out about 500cc's where a 215-913 will max out about 550cc's

There's many opinion on this subject. If you're dealing with a non-benched pump and don't plan to turn the barrels the 215 is where it's at. The plungers will give you a little more fuel and the governor is a bit lighter allowing more rpm; however you get the retard at rack above 13mm IIRC. The 180 will fall behind the 215 until you rotate the barrels and then it's 180 pump advantage because of no retard. That's how I understand it.

I've always had a smoother idle with 180 pumps vs 215 but it's nothing close to rediculous or anything.

215 is 887 and 913
180 is 885 and 911 (I think a 912 is an CA 180 pump)
160/175 is 838/841/854.
