I use jegs or summit for AN fittings, which I bought a -8 straight bulk head fitting, a -8 straight hose end, -8 rubber fuel hose. Then had some left over -8 alum. fuel line (from my car's fuel system) notched one end so it could be placed on the very bottom of fuel tank to beable to suck the very last drop of fuel if needed, then shoved it up inside the rubber fuel line with just enough left out so when I assembled everything, it would touch the bottom of fuel tank before fully in place then it would self adjust with the final goal of touching bottom.
Now I used the stock fuel canister, knocking out the stock fuel pump then smoothing out the 'waffle' of the can. so I could get a good seal with the bulkhead fitting. Once I did all that, using a fuel safe silicone gasket maker with bulhead fitting, then put the fuel tank back inplace.
Oh, forgot to say back up on the alum./rubber fuel line, I had fuel tank supported on each end with water inside to mock up being mounted like in truck (had to clean out inside of tank anyway) when I made sure the alum line did touch bottom, I measured after I pull it out. I used a hose clamp around rubber hose where the alum. line was, see only shove about 3-4'' alum into rubber line so when you'r re-installing fuel tank, the 'drawstraw' has room to 'flex' so when everything's back in place, hopefully the 'drawstraw' is touching bottom.
On the bulkhead fitting you just did, use a -8 straight hose end fitting with the rest of the -8 rubber line.
Was this too much info.?? Or not enough?? If needed, I can give all the part #'s.
