im lookin to paint it black or have it redone with blackchrome know anyone that does the blackchrome?

You gotta sandblast chrome before priming with epoxy primer, then paint. Epoxy primer has a very short window for topcoating, check with manufacturer. The grilles are plastic with a chrome decal [basically] over them. You can sand/paint them, but I recommend Bulldog Adhesion Promotor over any plastics. It can also be mixed into the paint to work as a flex agent.

I would not recommend trying to paint the chrome grille epoxy , adhesion promoter or whatever you want to put down once that chrome laminate starts to come off whatever you put on is going to come with it. I would get a sport grille out of whatever yr you have and paint it, but no need for both epoxy and adhesion promoter. I personally would recommend just adhesion promoter.

I recommended the epoxy for his chrome bumper. I said adhesion promotor for the grille [plastics]. Just clarifying.:hehe::Cheer:

You can use a 120 grit on the grill and the bumper then use Dupli Color primer then paint it what ever color you want it to be I did mine a year ago and they have taking a beating and still look good.

I painted both my bumper and my grill... I sandblasted the chrome on the bumper first though then had a buddy paint it to match the body so I knew it was done right. On the grill I used a razor to peel the chrome off(pain in the a$$) then painted the bare plastic after a light sanding. Hopefully it sticks, lol.

My apologies for the misunderstanding I did not even notice the part about the bumpers lol! Yes epoxy absolutely for the bumpers I am a huge fan of PPG's DP , but there are several other but I still wouldn't recommend painting the chrome grille as you can buy a non chrome from several aftermarket companies for relatively cheap! Jmo though
