The pulls turned out great! It was nice to meet Joe (redpuller) with the red dodge 2nd gen dually. -- His truck is super clean in person. They reset the sled after his pull, but his clutch was too hot to re-pull.

I also met Doug with the burgundy dmax. Super nice guy, and had a hard running rig. Congrats on the great pull!

Looks like a great time JP, looking forward to seeing your new set-up run next time!!!

:rockwoot:

I'm working out the turbo details right now. I can't wait either. It was so hard to watch all those trucks run and not have something to run myself. I almost drug out my girlfriend's 08 6.4.

Was the track actually as bad as it looks or did they have that sled set up like a tank out of the hole? Was it only a 250' track?

With a sled like that no one looked that great, that stripped ford at the end might want to find a more stout hitch.

That's how they always have the sled setup. The track didn't even look like 250', and it didn't look very good either

Wow, tough crowd.

What do you guys want -- rose petals on the track:hehe:

The track was uphill and kind of sloped to one side. The dirt was heavy and moist. I know I talked to Doug after his pull and he said he crossed some tractor's ruts. (watch his vid in the burgundy dmax at about 21 seconds, you can see him hit some deep ruts) Yes, it was only about a 250' track. I don't think Joe won because he didn't want to pull again after they reset the sled. In the interest of preserving my clutch, I wouldn't have either. If you thought the sled was tight for the diesels, you should have seen how tight it was for the gassers. Trucks that usually pull mid 200's on a 300' track were pulling like 110'.

All in all, it was nice weather, a nice crowd, and I was sad as hell that I didn't have a truck to pull there. The extreme class was worth the 4 hour round trip, and Joe's truck was impressive in person -- very very clean.

Cole, tom, Scott -- it wasn't the same without you guys. Please get your trucks together ASAP!!!

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Wish I could have made it up. Jp, stop changing stuff and go have some fun. LOL.

Joe

The track was pretty beat up Saturday; the Extreme Diesels were the last class to pull. On Sunday they reversed the order and Extreme Diesels went first. It was just Redpuller and I. We both had full pulls to start things off, then we had a pull off after they reset the sled. On the pulloff I pulled 249.25 and RedPuller went 209.71.

The track was short but it hooked well. They needed a better scraper and a roller to work the track though. The big ruts were filled with loose dirt making picking your line difficult. Still a great venue for a 2 day pull; had a blast.

Doug

Good job Doug, great way to start off your season after semi retirement from sled pulling. Its only been like 2 years since you hooked right??? Just kiddin man, congrats, did ye get him with the 'ol unlocked converter routine???LOL

nice to see doug come out of retirement.

Nice video's. Pull trk still not quite ready yet. We are hoping to ready for Fallon Nev. in 2 weeks. If not, Eureka.

Thanks for the comments and vids JP. Nice to meet you too! Good to see Doug back in it again too. Wish I could keep it up and follow you guys to Fallon.

Yeah, the track was very short, I hit the edge everytime and stopped before hitting the concrete at the end. They just needed a roller bad, both days they were out there discin' it up, wetting it down then just packing it down with the tractor pulling the scraper. Track was better the second day and my truck handled a lot better with 30psi in the rears than 45. Probably not going to go over 40psi anymore even on the hardest tracks.

VTPA always sets that sled up like a slug out of the hole, it's a lot heavier than Brian's Terminator. Plus being a short track they set it up super tight and I had to really slip the clutch to not blow the tires out at the beginning.

The second day I did two hooks but they allowed me about 25 minutes to cool things down. These track guys just think us clutch operated guys can just do hook after hook with no regards to heat issues. It was late on Saturday and no time to cool and re-hook. Being the first puller on Sunday, they reset the sled and I pulled a second time. Both good hooks just had to hit the brakes at the end of both. :(

I will get my vids of me and Doug from the second day up tonite.
