i have a garrett t1232 turbo out of a road grader with a 3406 cat motor in it.the turbo has a 66mm compressor inducer with a 1.54 turbine a/r. it will be going on a 2002 p-pumped 6 speed with custom hypermax pump with a 19 degree cam, the pump is set somewhere around 650cc's, custom 8 hole 16 injectors, stock camshaft {for now}. i am wondering if i can light the turbo and what rpm it will light at and keep it lit down the track with that loose of a turbine housing. i am going to have a custom turbo built for the truck later on in the summer, but i was wanting to try this turbo since i already have it.

thanks for any help

Generally speaking, equipment chargers have waaaay too much turbine (wheel diameter and A/R) and far too little compressor to be of much hi-po value for what you're doing.

Road graders are meant to survive many thousands of hours at low boost and low turbine restriction. You're doing almost the exact opposite.

If you're really serious about pulling, I'd move on to something else.
