does the key trick work with a 1999 ? didnt do anything when i switched the key back and forth

AFAIK its 01 and 02 only. I had a 00 that it didnt work on. You will have to get a scan tool to read it.

Oops my bad. The key trick works on a couple of years of 12 valves too right? Not sure why you would ever need it though.
