Chipped Dmax + towing

Ok guys I am way out of my element here but its for a friend so be nice to me:poke:
I have a friend with a 05 dmax auto and has recently added a BD 4" exhaust and a fresh air intake and a edge juice with the monitor. Before the mods he could tow the local big hill @ 100km ( of course no gauges so it was foot to the floor) now with the mods he was down to 60kms to keep the egts in check on the lowest setting. He is getting a snow h20 set-up put on at BD next week but surely there must be something else he can do other than spray? What turbo options is there for him? BD told him there is nothing out there yet?

I would suggest he talk to Pat @Mcrat racing. He knows his LLY's
 
He could try a GT4088R turbo from PPE, they work great to lower EGTs, we tow 13,000 pounds, or somewhere maybe around 7,000 kilograms.
 
I would first check everything out to make sure it's working properly as what your saying doesn't make much sence. Towing with an Edge on it's lowest setting and having an EGT issue just isn't right. I been in trucks with the edge oulling 15,000 lbs in 85 Degree OAT without issue pulling a 6% grade for 10 miles so something is amiss with your setup.
 
Thats what I thought when he was telling me but I asked him are you sure you turned the box down and he said it didn't matter, so......? I am going over there on the weekend, do you have any suggestions of what to look for?
Are there common problems that come up with these that I should key on? Thanks
 
I'd see how well ballanced those injectors are........ there is a leak somewhere.
