Choosing Gear combo.(Trans. and Rears)

Im just curious what gears some trucks are running and why

Also what transmission gear combo??

Here is what i figured out for my NV4500 with a 2.72:1 T-case....

15.26:1 first gear,Low Range
8.27 second,LR
5.61 First HR
4.54 third,LR
3.04 Second,HR
2.72 Forth,LR
1.99 Fifth,LR
1.00 Forth,HR
.73 Fifth,HR

If you manipulate it a little you can compare a lot
