I got an 03 dmax and my cluster is messing up, a friend of mine has a cluster out of his 06 and i was wondering if anyone has tried this, would it be the same even though its got the 6spd automatic?

depending how many miles u have on your 03 gm knows about it and has extended warranty coverage on them. have your dealer print it up.

Should work fine other then the gear indicator display will be different.. It only takes 10 minutes to switch it out, might be a good idea to try it out before you buy it, if possible?.....

Well it's free and has a little less miles, not that I'm worried about the miles but I didn't know if the display would work or if I needed to get it programmed to a 5spd auto

The display will work fine

'03's used J1850 for communications and the '06 uses GM LAN. Your going to need to check it out as it maynot work because of this difference.
