I had my HMR Street dual disc drag clutch put in a lil over 2 months ago. Did the break in on it like said and then some before I ever put any power to it. It never went to the drag strip or anything like that. Tried a couple launches with it on the street just to see what it would do but nothing major. Well the other day it started making this lil squeaking sound when I would roll off in second gear on a hill or when I was turning, basicly when it was harder to get it rolling. Today I was pulling out of a field and it did it a lil worse, well now I got home and turn on on the dirt road, hit the clutch and put it in third build up a lil and let it go, locks up good and spins as long as i want it to, even had it on a low power setting. Well turn in the yard and the clutch is engaged and won't disengage. Press the clutch pedal a few more times, still nothing. So i just kill it there, won't come out of gear either. SO what are the most likely problem here? I did not do the hydraulic upgrade and wonder if that is the problem or has this clutch just failed me? any suggestions to try or info on this would be a great help. Thanks for any help sent my way.

also the most I have hauled with it is a goose kneck with 6 tons on it, so the clutch should have handled that!

The pressure plate on those i dont think are as stout as SBC. I belive they were like 3000-3200 which shouldnt need hydraulics. My street puller didnt require them. I had this happen on my finger style plate and one of the fingers broke causing it to hang up. Tim

Heat buildup can cause this to happen as well, have you fooled with it any since the truck cooled off?

I am hoping it is just in need of some hydraulic up grades. I tried it again several hours after it happened and it is still engaged nicely. Just my kind of luck on this one. Well I am going to call Haisley tomorrow and see what they tell me it might need or to do. I am hoping nothing broke and the hydrualics just went south on it. I will find out sooner or later I am sure. Thanks for the info on what it could be.

?Well I finally spent a lil time working on my clutch, i got it to disengage. Just had to pump the pedal awhile and it disengaged. But when it tries to go back when in gear it sounds like the clutches are not going in all the way, tries to move but just grinds the clutch. Would this be the hydraulics failing or something worse?

i did replace a stock hydro kit that was not leaking externally, but internally it was. You could push the pedal down and it would dissengage but immediatly start rolling forward even though you still had the pedal down. Tim

Sounds like the hydraulics.

If you get the SBC upgrades, you will not be disapointed. Mine started failing slowly, and pretty much left me stranded with a trailer when they finally went out. (down town Seattle traffic at 4:30pm).

Now, I tell anyone that gets an upgraded clutch to get the hydraulics. They are worth every penny when the stockers fail.

Well, I have talked to Haisley Machine about it, and we are trying to figure out what is wrong with it before I spend any money on something that won'
t fix the problem. So far it is not making a whole lot of progress, but i hope to figure something out soon with out having to pull the trans or the clutch, but with my luck it will all have to come out to find the problem. thanks for the info and anything else thought of on this will be greatly appreciated.
