clutch question

this might be a stupid quesiton but i thought i read about this somewhere... but here goes... my 24v has a 6spd in it. its got the big input and 3600 SBC clutch.. im swapping transmissions... to a 5spd. will the clutch work if the 5spd has a big unput too?
 
postive on that? cause if so it will save me a trip to south bend on sat and ill be able to have the whole swap done on friday.

i wasnt questioning your knowledge.. i just want to make sure. i was going to call peter tomorrow. but i just figured id post up and see what most ppl thought first. thanks
 
I'm almost positive it will, but to reassure yourself, all you need is a speed square, or a rule and a straight edge to take some depth measurements..

yes it will work, when it comes to the DD as long as the input shaft is the same size all the clutches are the same for nv4500 and nv5600
 
awesome.. thanks guys. an got smoke.. the syncro's are wore out on 3rd gear and wont let it down shift. im trading the truck to a friend and didnt have the cash to rebuild the 6spd so im trading a guy that has a 5 spd and wants to go to a 6spd. and i just have to buy him syncro's. if you want a 6spd i know where one is. its got a broken 4th gear but everything else is still good. could buy 4th gear and go.
