Well my truck after all the sputtering and crap is finally throwing some new codes.

0501
0602
1693

What the heck is the first one.

It has had the 1693 for a very long time but has just now started throwing others.

R they anything importan???

And i cant find my smarty manual to tell me what the first two are.

0501 Vehicle speed sensor circut, or no vehicle speed reference signal
0602 fuel calibration error, shows up when running a Smarty. Sometimes referred to as the Smarty code.
1693 is a referrence code telling you codes are present.

602 & 1693 are both common Smarty codes, we all got them.

I think the 0501 could be inportant, before you change the speed sensor check the wiring harness. I've heard of the harness being shorted before. That could be why your truck is cutting fuel, intermittent signal from speed sensor.

my truck just threw all three of those codes too! i checked it out the 1693 was there because of the 0501. the sensor on the diff melted the connector on both sides of the harness. the 0602 went away when i took the smarty off. i replaced the sensor and found a new connector to wire in, and have had no issues fo about a week. still cant figure out why the connector melted tho? none of the codes have came back yet, put about 175ish miles on it after repair.
