Does anybody else's comp box seem to go crazy when it starts to get cold. when it gets below say 60 degrees or so I have to turn my key on 3-6 times before my box will come on. It has done this ever since I had the unlock done on it. Just wondering if its common or not.

I never had any problems like that with mine and id see temps as low a -10.

I kinda figured it would just be mine. I have sent it back god knows how many times and it has never been fixed. I think Edge has sent me 3 new boxes in the last 6 years, so Im deffinatly not complaining about there customer service. I was just wondering if any of yall might have the same problems.

Mine would do that, I'm pretty sure its part of the cold weather protection.

Mine does that whenever it gets cold down here. Turn your heater on for a bit and it'll come back on...

that's funny...

My first one did that back in 08 or so. Edge couldn't fix it. I finally just installed a momentary switch in the power feed line. So I could cut power to it with the truck running, a few times and then it was good to go.

I never thought much about it, if it was too cold to come on I wasnt gonna use it anyway.

mine was weird. It didn't have to be really cold to not want to come on. Maybe in the 30's? Can't remember, been too long.

I do know I enjoyed listening to my 3 cyl idle this morning...The high was 8 degrees today.

Mine does it every time it's below freezing, it goes blank, sometimes 1 or 2 LEDs will come on. When the cab warms up and you turn the key on/off it will work,maybe.....

mine does it every time its cold. i have to switch the key on/off at least 10 times before it will work. i did send it in to have the drag version unlocked. the guy i talked to at edge said there was no cold weather protection??? I dont want to hijack this thread, but just yesterday i tried turned the comp on and the truck started to run like real bad and blow grey smoke, so i wiggled the wires on the back of the comp, and the truck died. set a p0252 (fuel injection pump fuel valve stuck) and a p0253 (fuel injection pump fuel valve circut open). anyone know what might have caused this? the truck is a 2001 with a hrvp44 with about 40k miles on it.

Well seein that other people's does the same thing is kinda good, this way I dont feel like I need to pull it back out and send it back to Edge and then have to drive a turd for 2-3weeks.

Mine did it in my 2000. Cycle the key once or twice and it kicked on. Like Roach said if it was too cold for it to come on I wasn't gonna use it.

The cold issue was actually a common problem a couple of years ago. IIRC, there was alot of complaints about it on TDR. I had it happen to mine too. Edge wasn't acknowledging the problem, but I did send it in, had it updated with the newest software and haven't had a problem with it since.

The big issue? Now Edge charges $100. if you are out of warranty, to do any upgrades/reflashing.
