So i'm looking at this common rail thinking that only 8 potentially 7 are necessary to make this 5.9 operational.

1. for fuel feed from the bosch pump
6 for the feed pins
(total of 7)
1 for the bleed off *is this really necessary and how would the pressure be release it it was eliminated by replacing the banjo bolt with a solid fuel rail plug/cap, it t hink the end result you will actually need 3 of these bolts.... 1 for the bleed off, 1 for the line that comes from the back of the head and goes through the fuel filter housing and 1 for blocking off the CP3.

Photos would kick ass
Pro and cons would be appreciate!
Parts list and websites would be cool too.

The fuel rail pop off return plug has been done many times over. As for the injector return line on the back of the head, you will need that. With out it, you will probably be causing alot of damage to the injectors or more. The return line from the CP3 and the injector return lines do not go back into the filter housing. They are acutually joined together by a hollow bore in the back of the filter housing (think of it as a long T fitting made into the housing). From there the fuel is returned back to the tank. You can block off the rear return line at the cylinder head and use the return port in the front of the head and make its own return back to the tank if you want to, but either way you must have a injector return system. Also I think the banjo fitting on the return line at the head is actually a pressure relief valve inside it. You can probably use a fuel pressure regulator on this instead of the PRV fitting like some people do with the p-pump engines.
