I need to get a family vehicle and have decided on the ford excursion. I want to put a common rail 5.9 in it. So my main question is which excursion to buy. The gas ones go for way way cheaper than there diesel counterparts. are the axles and stuff in the v10 excursion similar to the diesel ones? what about other parts? Can a gas conversion be done economically or would i end up paying more in the end by having to upgrade parts?

In the last little bit they were made with 6.0 s I would look for one with a bad engine that really drops the price. Other than that go with whatever you find the best price on.
My only concern with using a gas engine would be less sound absorbing materials and possible emissions problems. Rich

pm Got-Torque on this site. He converted a 4x4 excursion V10 to Cr cummins. He has a build thread somewhere.
