Common rail heads??

Does any one know if there is any diference in the common rail heads from yr to yr.Will they all interchang? Is there any certian yr any better then another as far as performance goes?

I know the 06 is diffrent rom the 03-05 trucks... dont ask how

The 03-04 trucks have different heads from the 04.5 and up trucks. The newer trucks have inconnel valves and stellite seats plus they are less prone to dropping valves it seems. I dont know if they changed anything in '06 or not. There are people updating the older heads as well.

I recently bought an 03 head to expirment with. My truck is an 04.5 and I just wondered if there were any changes and if I might be going backwards using this head instead of a 04.5 and up head. You just hate to put allot of time and money into a head that might not be as good as your stock set up.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I am considering updating my head
to a 04.5-up CRD head and porting and polishing to help lower boost pressure
and EGT's
