cylinder 1 and 2 are leaking from around the threads of the line nut. it started off w/ just number 2. I pulled the connector tube, the o ring was toast, i replaced it with a 9/16" x 7/16" x 1/16" fuel safe o ring and put it back together.

now line 1 and 2 are seeping from around the threads (number 1 may have been before). but im curious as to if the 9/16" o ring was too small?

Id run to cummins, but its an hr drive, if i can fix it w/ the right size o ring from the hardware store, id rather do that.

Thanks

I thought this was your theory on the connector tube o-rings.

"the o rings that seal the connector tube sealed to the head dont do anything that will cause a problem.

dont waste your time changing them."

I was about to say the same damn thing Brian!

Maybe the master VP tuner should just call up his local injection shop?

I think I remember him saying, " I've swapped injectors 20+ times and didn't even use connector tube o rings, they're not necessary":redx:

Ya. They aren't important. That's why I chased a hard start issue for months until I changed the connector tube o-rings. Cost me $10 in o-rings and the problem was solved.

Just go to cummins and get the right o-rings. Takes the guess work out of everything. Heck I'm picking some up from cummins on friday, send me the money and I'll ship them to ya.

I've already replaced all of them in mine and 2 or 3 of them are still leaking. Ahh the hell with it!

Brian, go back to cummins forum and delete bad product posts so the vendors that give you stuff at cost can continue to sell.

it turned out that it wasnt an oring, but the flares on the ends of the lines were getting a little beat up. cleaned them up and leak is gone.

after looking into it further, yes, apparently connector tube orings can cause a hard start, i will say i was wrong on that. the reason it never made a difference for me was a check valve in the pervious owner installed.

also, i think a 10mm x 2 would be perfect, does the 1.5 work also?

Why don't you go say that on CF where all your groupies are? You know the ones who believe anything you say, even if its horribly wrong.

I have used them but 2s are better , I got this metric oring kit at work and just placed the stock oring over what look close and the 10x2 was pretty close

Mcmaster carr has them

Haven't you got another head port to butcher, ya better go get your axe sharpened.

pm snedge he'll get them too ya quick, I bought an extra set just in case

the 9/16" o ring does work, after cleaning up the ends of the lines w/ some emery cloth, all is good. thanks for the help.
