Ok here is the deal, i have a single cab long bed 2wd gmc 2500 w/o an engine. I want to put a 12v cummins in it and set it up basically for drag racing. it might see the street every once in a while but not very much so it doesnt have to be street friendly. my question is, what engine mods are going to be needed to get this truck into the mid/low 10's or mabey even high 9's. I plan on gutting the interior, converting to a short bed, and putting big slicks in the back. also what tranny would yall recomend for this type of build.

thanks

Might not can be done with the dinosour engine, why not stick with the Dmax? What would attract you to the Ol' smoky technology of the tired ol 12v over a modern Iszusuusezu? Just curious

I always wanted to build a cummins engine and i figured the 12v would be the easiest for this conversion set up

I would stick with the long bed... the extra wheelbase will stabilize it and help plant the rears IMO. 8-900hp should make it pretty quick :D

why not go with a 4bt cummins engine it will be lighter weight in the front end by a couple hundred pounds.
