Well middle of the week last week the old 6.5 gave up the ghost. She made it 251,000 miles and I guess that wasnt so bad. Not really how I was wanting to start the year out but I guess it could be worst. The only good thing is atleast I have a engine sitting that will find a home in between the fenders of her. I'm looking for those of you who have installed a Cummins in the 90s fullsize Chevy trucks for help. For those of you that have done it what did you do for motor mounts? Any pics of your mounts or links to threads with info would be appreciated.

Andy

i just modified the stock frame mounts and used 6.5 motor mounts with some half inch plate on the side of the block. some have taken dodge motor mounts and some 3/8 inch plate and cut the factory frame perches off and weld the plate to the frame and make your own frame perches. check out these sites they have some info also

I build these. you can find them on destroked's products page or you can contact me for more information.

Give Ken a call at autoworld and he would be more than glad to help you out. if you are not fab inclined than he has brackets to make your factory alt. and AC to work along with a downpipe if your gonna run the hx35.

Can somebody explain how to get the big pictures right up on the post instead of the stupid attachments cuz it says my files are too big even after they are resized.
thanks
Joe

Chevycummins you have any pics of yours?

they are a bit dark since its cloudy outside tried a couple with a flash light but here is the pics of mine as for the frame perches we just cut down each side of the flat part and bend them down about a quarter of an inch to get it to clear i tried to use paint and highlight the weld that we made on the frame perches as you notice the mounts were cut and we welded tabs to the 6.5 mount and then to the plate we bolted to the side of the motor.

Andy

Well here are some pics of what I did today. My barn is not the nicest to work in during the winter. Chris Watson can vouch for how bad it is to work in when its cold out. The last pic is of my state of the art heating system in there.:hehe:

http://www.4btswaps.com has some really good and helpful information and people on there...

several have used screamin's mounts as far as I can tell from reading on there as well as a couple others... just based off of looks, I like the looks of Avalanche Engineering products as well.

Best of luck bud

Thanks Mitch, not really something I wanted to get into now but not much choice. I'll check those other sites.

Well I managed to get the engine/trans/t-case out between snow storms. I did find out that the engine did not let loose. The flexplate came apart again this time tearing up the Tq convertor. I tried to check it before pulling the engine but it was a reason to put the Cummins in it. Well here are a few pics. Still need to preasure wash it all and sit the engine in there to check a few things out later this week.
