Im planning on converting my 2wd dodge 3500 to a 4wd this winter or summer. Basicly i want to do it right the first time, i know what i need for the transmission but dodnt know which transfer case to get. I wan the strongest one possible and still mate to a nv4500 trans with a 29 spline output.

Ford Transfer Case Model Numbers
4 NP 271
4 NP 273
4 BW 1345
4 BW 1350
4 BW 1354
4 BW 1356
4 BW 4404
4 BW 4405
4 BW 4406
4 BW 4407
4 DANA 28

Dodge Transfer Case Model Numbers (rebuilt):
4 NP 241 (DHD)
4 NP 241 (DLD)

I have no idea which of these is feesable and obviously i want something atleast as strong ad the 241dhd.

NP271 is supposed to be strong. Not sure on the specs though. A 241dhd is good too.

The plan is to run a ford front axle so i done need to worry about the vaccum system but i also get locking hubs.

Now if i take the np273 route can i get the input for the 273 to match the output of my transmission? Will i need to do anything to the frame or stock fuel lines? And where can i get a slip yoke yo fit the 273 output?
