what kind of transmission temps do you auto guys see just drivin downthe highway, intown and towin, i just want to see the norms.

anyway i the main question is can someone explaine the pros and cons of both a wastgated turbo and a non-wastageed turbo.

about 40* and above on the highway i see 130 ish

in town 130-160 around the 160 is a lot of stopping and starting and just idleing

below 40* the needle doesnt really move off the peg.

I have the double deep pan.

at the drags ive seen it get up to 195 but thats after a back to back run. if i just let it set and idle it stays about 160. my temp probe is in the pan.

i am just wondering cause i used to be 125* on highway and not over 135* pullin the sammy. but now it is about 150* all the time and i bet it can get higher if i push it.

As far as the turbos go, a wastegated housing will flow as much as a bigger non gated housing, but spool faster. If you run a smaller non gated housing it will choke sooner than the gated housing or the bigger housing. Clear as mud?

Same as him but my temp sensor is in the line going to the cooler. All of your coolers in front of the truck prolly need cleaning, that would make your temps go up.

ok but will a non gated turbo level off on the boost or will it keep on goin up

and for the temps i have always wondered but never asked. the new sticks are makin the tranns temps go pretty high but egt's are managable
