i am planning Buyn & building either a 1st gen or 2nd gen 12V as a rebuilder .Seen 6BT sittn in a yard of a workshop minus injection pump for awhile now & the guy said , bring some $$ with you next time . Plan to blueprint it over the next 6 months for a early jeep wagoneer .
1/ how do you tell by lookn at the numbers on the block what year it is ?
2/ Do 1st & 2nd Gen come with the same internals ( rods , crank , block , heads, etc ) ?
3/ Are there different pistons available & whats available- heard the marine ones are different ,whats the stongest & lighest pistons available &can you get ones that will lower the comp ratio ?
4/ does the block have sleeves's or machine the block ?
5/ what alternative valves are available , lighter & just as strong ?
6/ what books are around for hotting up cummins 6Bt's ?
