I have a 02 with auto tranny.Wanting to put a better tranny cooler on.Was thinking about the bd cooler with the fan,and mounting it under my bed.Can I mount it under my bed and not use the factory cooler or heat exchanger?Just run the lines from tranny to bd cooler and back to tranny.Or do I need to use the heat exchanger?
Or if anybody has something that has worked good for them.Let me know.
Thanks

Wanting to get rid of the cooler in front of radiator.Thinking along the lines that if I can move the tranny cooler away from all the heat from the radiator and IC.Mite help tranny run cooler, and the truck run a little cooler when towing on hot summer days.
Next question, how much pressure do these trannys have? Will barbed fittings and rubber hose work fine?
Thanks for the help

barbed Push-lok fitting will work. Get hose that'll handle 300psi. I used aeroquip line and fittings. The Trans cooler should come with barbed fittings and I'd also add hose clamps as well. You'll need 1/4"to-8 adapters for the tranny then hook your -8 fittings to the adapters and run your line to the cooler.

How much hotter is the fluid temp coming out the the trans in the hot line. Then the fluid in the pan?

If you are having tranny heat problems you might want to clean your radiator and intercooler. They could have build up restricting airflow.

Not having heat issues, just dont want to.Once summer comes,if it ever does here.Going to pull the radiator out this week and clean it also.Would rather try to prevent it from happening. Then having heat problems wreck a good camping trip lol.
I already put a deep pan on.So hoping by getting rid of the stock cooling system. And putting the cooler with fan that I put a link to.I wont have to worry about it ever when its 100 degrees outside.
