Read some posts about this but not much info out there. Wondering if anyone has input as far as inj goes. I also read you can advanced the timing quite a bit with this combo. Any one have experience with this?

This'll help you a bit.
Below are the stock spray angles of the bowls in the CR and 24 valve 5.9 DODGE Cummins engines.

1998-2002 24 valve= 153 degrees.
2003 and EARLY 2004= 143 degrees.
2005-2007 5.9= 124 degrees.

By the specs above, not sure how much timing you can get, though the 2003-early '04 pistons do have a sort of "funnel" into the bowls, which the rest don't have.

Mark.

Thanks Mark, I have 06 pistons and to be honest I'm not to knowledgeable on spray angles and how it will affect the performance. Im wonderin if ill need different nozzles.

Running a CR piston with 24v injector tips would cause a hot spot in the pistons and will end up burning holes through the pistons.

Is there a mfr that makes tips that could be used? Are cr types compatible with my inj?

Talk to weston I'm sure he could build a set of 24v tips at the angle needed for CR pistons.

No, oem CR nozzles won't fit a VP injector, BTDT.

I was checking into VP nozzles for a mechanical 6.7 build (long story) and was told there were OEM Bosch 148 degree injector nozzles available for a VP and that is all, without a custom made nozzle.

I'm sure there's places that'll make you what you want, if you have Cubic $$$ to give them. ;)

Oh boy wonder what this is gonna cost...

Thanks for your help guys. This 06 short block is proving to be a project to use in a VP truck.
