We attended the West Coast Nationals this past week, great event with lot's of equipment and the weather held out at least on Tuesday as that’s all we got to stick around for. We had some unfortunate carnage in the means of cracked block around the 150’ mark I think it was. This was a hard-blok filled championship block that had been run for a approx four years. Below are some photos, I will be posting some video as well when I get them loaded. Not sure how we will proceed from here, still getting over the depression phase.

That really sucks. Hope you guys get it figured out and get her back on the track soon.

Damn Scott, that sucks big time! Did you change anything on the motor that would have caused that or did it just get stressed out from use?

Man that makes me sick I can't Imagine how you feel. Hope you all get it back together and better then before.

Hopefully the internals are still salvagable. 4 years isn't bad on a block that has been running 4+ times the HP it was designed for. Might be time for someone to make a girdle that compresses the block and the head together. Plate on the bottom, plate on the top of the head, with big bolts tieing them together.

damn that's not cool! You gonna have it back together for TS?

Better sell the whole rig to me and get something bigger and better. :)

But yeah I think I would be sick if that happened to me...

The thinking is it was time, if you remember a thread I started a while back about a freeze plug blowing out that might have been a sign of the filler, Hard-Blok, getting weak and cracking itself. I spoke with Chris when the plug blew out and he stated that usably is sign of a cracked block I looked all over and saw no cracks at that time but that doesn't mean the concrete based filler wasn't cracked internally already. Hoping the majority of the internals are okay and this was pressure braking through but there are new technologies available now so don’t if we will go with the same parts. Now how much was that billet block with the weighted crank :bang

Well Scott, take comfort in knowing your one of the few that has made enough power to make the cylinders try to escape from the crank.
