I was in a pull this past weekend and seem to have cracked my transfer case. The crack is horizontal and about an inch long. It's located on a flat surface between the detent spring bolt and the shifter. The case seems to work just fine. I only noticed the crack after the pull when I was trying to determine why I was leaking oil. The edges of the crack are perfectly in line, it's just a hair line crack. Sorry, don't have a pic. I tried searching for an image on-line and couldn't find the right view. Any idea why the case may have cracked? It's a mystery to every that I've asked!
