Is this compressor impeller scratched or cracked?

I just got this turbo and I think it is cracked, but could use a second opinion.

where are you seeing a crack?

if you're looking at the white oval shaped "ring", that's factory paint for the optical pickup when they balance it.

compressor wheel looks fine to me

that white squigly line is not a crack, it's paint, so no worries there...

the crack in the turbine housing isn't pretty, but as long as it's not leaking to the atmosphere, it's probably not going to make any impact on performance.

while I wouldn't be thrilled with the turbine housing, if the bearing play isn't all sloppy, I'd run it as is without a 2nd thought

Forrest, after a closer look I believe you're right about that comp wheel. I've ran turbine housings that were cracked way more than that!

LOL that was my thoughts, I couldn't see a crack, just looked like paint to me.

it has texture to it. that is why I asked.

It is rough like a scratch or crack.

DZS-Cummins
says it came off his dads truck and was working just fine.
Maybe I can just get a new wheel and weld the housing?

can I use an exhaust housing from an he351 or he341 to replace the cracked one?

Is anything else compatable or swappable?
