Crank sensor

Ok here is the deal... Im wondering if i can do a 12v crank sensor on my 24 valve so i dont have to pull apart this motor i built with a 02 crank in it. :bang The reason is the 02 crank dont have a crank sensor ring to read off of so in order to run my vp pump i would need a 02 computer, wiring harness and front cover because cps is in diff location and the cam gears are different!!! So if i could do this off the front of the motor with a 12v crank sensor and wire it in that would be awesome but if not ill have to pull this motor back apart... If anyone knows anymore about this it would be awesome!! :thankyou2:

It is possible........it would be easier to get another crank.

well i got the crank and everything but i gota send it to the machine shop to get it checked and i dont want this pos dieing on the side of the road cause i rigged some darn crank sensor i guess but it thought if it would be easier to just wire rather then pull the rocker off, hold tappets up, pull cam, ruin all these new gaskets and pull front cover off!! and oil pan it just sucks!!!

Unfortunately the tone ring & CPS setup is very different than the tachometer pickup of a 12-valve. The 24v tone ring has many fine teeth, the 12-valve tach pickup reads off 2 notches in the crank damper. . .wouldn't have near the resolution needed to feed the ECM: Fluidampr 960311 5.9L Cummins 92-98 Fluidampr Harmonic Fluid Dampers
