I have a 05 6.0 as a work truck. I have searched but Im too dumb to find anything.

This thing will crank for 5-6 seconds before it will start, everytime.
I know these have a extended crank time but what is normal.
Is there a known problem with this.
The truck runs fine, besides being a turd LOL It just has to be cranked alot to start it.

Any Ideas?

I can shut it off at the drive thru then restart it and it will crank the same time.

Batteries? When mine got lazy my cranking time increased and sounded angry when fired, especially when cold.

Sounds like a high pressure oil leak, possibly high pressure oil rail standpipe/plug o-rings.

Sounds like a typical startup to me. I had a brand new 03 i ordered and i allways thought it took forever to start.

my All both my '06s have long cranking times, and mu dads isn't any better.. I say its prolly normal

When the engine is cold, does it need to warm up before it has enough power to move the truck or does it have noticeably better power after warm up?
