Cruise Control Surge

When I set my cruise control anytime it surges really bad. I watched the boost gauge and it went from about 5-7 lbs. to about 15-17 lbs. of boost when the surge happens. Is there an adjustment for the cruise control or is something going bad? The vacuum hoses are hooked up and working but I don't know if there is something wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

cut one of the vacuum hoses and take the guts out of a small ball point pen and put it inline. itll restrcit it enough that it will slow the actuator and stop the surging...or a very tiny flo control for a vacuum system if yu can get one
basically you need to restrcdit the flow somehow.

just for giggles, put the smarty back to stock and see if that fixes it. it seems to fix it on mine, but i don't know if i'm nuts or not. but i can't stand the smarty on stock, so i rarely use the cruise anymore.

So basically take the ink tube out of the pen and just slide it in the vacuum hose?

Smarty charges the throttle scaling....= throttle over sensitizer, the mvps power surge at 8 ish psi probably doesn't help

i used a wd40 straw.

have just an juice w/att. no smarty.

helped a little bit but its still there.

2002 (like the OPs ) has all electronic cruise control...... wd40 straw trick wont work

Smarty will cause cruise control surge on higher settings and also make sure torque management is set to 0.

My truck also does this real bad but it has a monster pump and huge injectors and thats what causes it it even did it with just an edge
