I was wondering if it's possible to swap the cruise module from the newer 2nd gens on the early ones?

As I understand 2000 and up use an electronic cruise vs the vac controlled one on the 98 and 99 trucks. Apparently this setup has no cruise surge.

I am SICK AND TIRED of the surging cruise in my 98 24v. I would love to be able to use my cruise again without feeling like I'm riding in a Korean Taxi cab (those who have been to Korea know what I'm talking about!)

SO, has anyone switched the parts over? Can it be done? I have no idea what is involved... so help is appreciated.

My 01 had the fly-by-wire, it surged too. Only down hill though.

Dad's 01 has the vacuum cruise, his is a 2x4 auto mine is a 4x4 5spd. Both were built in july.

Only cabs in India are worse!!

I hated the surge too, then it broke all together and I havent looked back. But it would be nice once in awhile.

Haloman...whats this WD-40 tube, of are you talking lubing somthing? Mine does this, and it ia a pain in the rear...are there any good fixes for this problem?

Yes I put a WD-40 hose in. While it helps, it's not fixed, that's for sure.

It goes from about 5psi boost cruising up to sometimes darn near 20psi... over and over and over and over....

It is putting the tube in the cruise control tube. It makes it smaller and less jumpy. Cures it for some guys.

Follow the main supply line from the vac pump, it goes into a "T" fitting. One of the lines from that fitting goes to the cruise canister under the drivers side battery. That's the line you want.

ok...ill look, Just pull the line off the tee and shove the WD tube into the line going to the canister?
