You would get a better responce if you listed this thread in the 94-02 Dodge threads rather than sled events.LOL Just leave that tranny alone, thats the only chance I have at beating you...you might break.

talk to this guy (JasonCzerak) i believe he had his tranmission gears cryoed.

it makes the gear stronger but also it makes it more brittle. instead of the teeth flexing a little they are stiff so they will reach a point where they will just shear off.

I've been looking into this also.Just got done breaking the main shaft in my NV5600. Got the new part here and need to decide what to do on Monday. We have a local place that will do all the internals for $325.

I cryoed 5th and 6th and the barrings. My problem was shreading the teeth off of 6th. We'll see if things hold up, I haven't been too nice to things. :)

i keep shearing the teeth off of 3rd gear on the main shaft and the countershaft so i was hoping someone had previous expeirence w this to give me some insite. and thanks for moving the thread for me

Give it a try. should be under $500, you'll wanna do 5th gear because if I'm not mistaken power will be transferred though that 1:1 part to turn 3rd. I heard of a few pullers that cryoed the entire trans, not sure if they had better or worse luck.

I won't personally have any more info for a while. so far it wasn't broke is all i can say.
