Is it possible to hook a Cummins to something like a Tremec T56 Magnum transmission. I am looking to build up a 2002 2wd Dodge just for the street. I have two other Dodge 4x4 and just looking for something that will handle better without a front axle and transfer case. The NV5600 in one of the trucks went south last week. Another POS that Dodge came up with. The NV4500 and NV5600 are just to slow shifting with bad gear ratios.

Dibs on your busted 5600!

Tremec might last 1 WOT pass behind a cummins.

Nope, would last 1 pass. I used to break them with a blown small block, granted I found it was slicks 'and' torque that they could'nt take, but I dought it would even take a 'roll on' start from the torque of the cummins.

To late to edit, meant to type "wouldnt" last even 1 pass. Sorry

The problem with the NV5600 is the lack of parts. I know two trucks right now that need main shafts for the NV5600 and they can not be found. Is there anything other than the NV4500 and NV 5600 that will hold up. How about the ZF 5 or 6 speed how are they.

G56. Seems to be able to take a little beating. At least they're still in production and parts are available.
