I am putting together a Cummins tough truck. I am gonna use a wrecked 97 with an auto trans. I need this thing to have really good response and not a whole lot of smoke. I already have a banks powerpack on it with a twin ram and the fuel plate that came with the kit and a set of marine 370's. I think I am gonna ditch the 370's for some 5x14's but besides that im not sure what else I should do to the pump the only thing is 4k or 5k gov. springs. I'd like to be around 550 hp or so. So anyone with some ideas I'd love to hear them. Also I need some help on a turbo, I got a silver bullett here for it but I'm not sure how laggy its gonna be. I guess I should also say the head is ported and polished(didn't take the intake off) and I have 60lb springs on it. So with all that said lets hear some ideas.
Thanks, Mike

If you dont want any turbo lag or smoke a set of twins using your stock turbo would be nice and give you plenty of air for 550hp...

Did the Banks kit come with a 14cm turbine housing for the stock turbo??? If so do twins, do some mod work to the waste gate opening on the HX35 and keep it on the manifold, use a S400sx3 as the atmospheric charger. It'll spool lightning fast and should easily support 550hp....also slide a good cam in it!

I'd really like to stick to a single charger simply because of the add on points. They have a system goes by cubic inch and then so many points per add on. Of course I could lie a bit and not tell them everything thats changed they have no clue about diesel engines. I didnt even build this thing yet and a lot of people are *****ing about the smoke that it might produce.

If you are worried about smoke you might want something smaller than a 5x14injector. Don't need something that big for 550 IMO.

I still have the stock injectors and I think a set of 215's, maybe I could use either of them.
