Would a 12 valve head work on a 6.7? If yes, what else from a 12 valve would be compatible with the 6.7?

In short NO but anything is possible when money is no issue.

As I understand, the 6.7 has high deflection angles (rods) and will not hold what a 5.9 will. So my question is ....why?

The stroke to rod length is a bad match. It'd probably work with a little playing (i.e. new rods).

Shorter? Longer? Move the centerline closer or further away from the rod bearing centerline?
