Haven't seen much discussion about the current class leading turbo in these classes, is HX60 and precision still the top one's or has something new come along?

Seems like you hit the nail on the head. HX60 and some Garrett stuff at the top of the list with a matching price tag also...

Hearing some rumors of some new borg stuff for the S400's coming out (turbine wheels and compressors) and being tested, but do not know any specs or results, or if its even a reality yet. Could be wishful thinking.

I do not know much of the 3.0 world, but bein a 60 is 2-3 yrs out of date? I feel like there would be a known charger by now. As in Borg s5 series, garret, precision but I guess it costs more than 2.6 money to have this kind of info given out.
I say this just because of how closely related the classes are in hp range, I know 2-300 hp is alot but when I'm hearing 1400-1475 at the crank in 2.6. I guess it's hard for me to believe a 60 is out in the 3.0 class when there's nothin to replace it really. Seems its still the charger for 2.6..
But I'm just a peeon.

Hx82's are suposed to be the ticket now for the 3.0 class

I was told HX60s are still holding their own in 2.6 with the Precisions and even a BW getting into the mix but 3.0 has gone to larger frames than the HX60-sized chargers. They're nasty!

Might as well lump 2.5 in here. Whats the hot ticket there? BW get you nationally competitive? When we (in KY) had a 2.5 class previously (5 yrs ago or so) the S465 was the whoop until folks started running stepped covers/clipped wheels. Seems the rules have universally eliminated such turbos in the new 2.5 classes but I guess some places allow billet wheels while others do not? Reckon how they tech that since I've heard of folks media blasting the billet wheels so that they visually look like a cast wheel. :pop:

Still waiting on my HX60, the new and improved one that is.

ive herd perscition has had a bad batch of compressor wheels, theyve lighten the compresser wheel more and its cauesd stress cracks after 2-3 hooks. they preform well untill they come apart that is.....

Not sure if that's true or not but I've seen 3 Precisions bite the dust this season.

Without giving to much up on the hx82's. Are they using E or F trim turbines? Custom turbine housings?

I had my fingers on the latest and greatest 2.6 Precision a few weeks ago, and it looks killer. It had the "dimensions" written on the compressor housing and they're now the same as the 60's. But its since gone onto a truck and been run once, didn't make a full pass but other than making lots of whistly noises it didn't seem better than anything else. And good luck getting 3.0 info without buying one and measuring it yourself, theres witchcraft or something going on there now

Okay, at the risk of sounding like a complete newb(even though I am really) to pulling... what makes these turbos from Precision so damn expensive? They say the 2.6 x 3 is a great beginer turbo... who the hell who's just getting into pulling and wants to drive it on the street a little as they say has $4,800 to spend on a turbo alone? I'm ACTUALLY just getting into pulling and I don't have that much money in the two turbos I've purchased and practically both sets of injectors I've purchased combined. Now I know I don't have a 2.6 truck, but what class would I be closest to in most orginizations? I just run a batmo 366(say what you will but it's holding strong with minimal radial play and no axial play, no rebuilds or upgraded thrust bearings) right now and have a HTT 71(believe its still an s300 framed charger?) to try later on. Would that fit me closest to a 2.5 class or lower even yet? Truck pulling here in SD is damn near non existent. The tractor guys look down on us and don't like sharing the sled...

Yeah I know... but it's a bit different when an orginization has an established class or classes for 4x4 diesel trucks. Where as in my area I'm one of a handful of trucks that pulls consistently. It seems as if they are changing the rules to make it even harder for truck guys to get into it. I'm sure it's stuff most of you guys have dealt with or still do... but damn it sucks. Just want to hook to the sled as many times as I can. lol
