So most rules claim that in the 2.6 class if you run dual tires on the rear you have to run BUDD style wheels on the front, and not a regular style wheel.....

here is the question to all of the rule makers out there....

As long as the wheel has a BUDD center in it, does it make it legal to run in the class??

I ask this because im building my truck to run 2.6 and i dont want thrown out of the class because of some "technicality"

another question?

Can the truck have more than 8 lugs as long as said axle was available in a 1-ton or less truck??

Logan, my understanding is that you CAN run regular wheels (like srw trucks have) up front you just have to remove the front dually adapter so the track width isn't real wide up front like mod pulling truck. Also can't run a dually wheel flipped around sticking out in the front real far either.

That's my interpretation of the rules on the front wheels for dually trucks.

im going to be running a F-Superduty 80 under the rear and im also going to put the 10 lug 4x4 Dually spacers on the front (im running ford front hubs now on my dodge) so i can run 10 lug wheels in the front to match the rear, but i want the extra width of the dually spacers in the front just in case i ever decide to run a single rear wheel (im going to have four 12 inch wide BUDD wheels made) at a brush pull somewhere (instead of rear dual tires) so i can get the most offset possible from the front to the rear......

the rear dual tires are going to be 285/75/16 BFG A/T's and the front will either be 33x15.50 claws with about 1/8 to 1/4 tread or 33x13.50 STS's, i wish they had the STS's in 33x14.50 in a 16 inch wheel but only in a 15......

when are you going to pull this truck....huh...and will it have enough power for all that tire..

when it gets done and that all depends on wether i stay here or come home and try and find a decent job in the states (doubtful), im thinking about shooting some resumes out starting around the end of october and see what that does for me, cause that way if i quit i wont have to pay taxes come the first of the year.......ill make it have enough power one way or another, and if that requires a big bottle behind the seat then so be it.......if i remember right we are allowed to run it in the big class in florida.......when i bought this truck i knew it was going to take a while to build it and i want to build it as strong as possible without spending excess amounts of money and this is one way to do it......

very very true...I think you should ditch the pulling and drag race it...

no thanks.....anyways Stockton wheel priced me a set of 10 lug dually wheels 12 inches wide with the 10 lug pattern and 6 inches of back spacing (factory is 8+) for 259 a wheel, just to widen a factory wheel to 12 inches is 159 but i needed less back spacing.......im waiting to see how much they charge to add beadlocks....
